Services


Programs and Services Available:
A Place to Call Home provides a variety of programs for families or individuals interested in providing care for a child or adult in the foster care system or with special needs. 

  • Family Foster Homes (FFH)- Licensed under the Department of Child Safety to provide care for children ages 0-17 removed from their biological family due to abuse or neglect. 
    • Medically Fragile-certification that allows families to care for children with higher medical, behavioral and developmental needs
    • DDD Certification-for families licensed as Family Foster Homes who are caring for a child receiving DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) and ALTCS  (Arizona Long Term Care) services
    • Respite Only-Families licensed to provide respite services for children placed in licensed Family Foster Homes in the FFH respite only provider’s home.
    • In Home Respite Care: An individual licensed to provide respite services for children placed in licensed Family Foster Homes.  The licensed In Home Respite Care provider cannot provide respite care in their home but only in a licensed Family Foster Home.
  • Child Developmental Home (CDH)-licensed under the Division of Developmental Disabilities for children ages 0-17 with a developmental disability such as Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, or Cognitive Deficiency.  These children may be in the custody of the Department of Child Safety due to abuse or neglect or their biological parents may have requested an out of home placement for their child to reside. 
  • Adult Developmental Home (ADH)-licensed under the Division of Developmental Disabilities for adults ages 18 and up with a developmental disability such as Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, or Cognitive Deficiency.  These adults may have connections to their biological families.  Some may be legally responsible for themselves or have a Court appointed guardian. 
  • Adoption Services-A Place to Call Home certifies families to adopt a child through the Arizona foster care system and some tribal foster care systems.  Families can be certified to adopt and licensed to provide foster care. 
  • Kinship-For families caring for relative children placed by the Department of Child Safety.  Becoming licensed as a foster home allows the families to get the foster care supports such as agency advocacy, foster care reimbursement, and other services.
  • Tribal Foster Care- A Place to Call Home contracts with Native American Communities to provide foster homes to the Communities’ children.  The children are placed in the licensed type home that meets their physical and developmental needs. 
  • Respite Services-Respite is offered to foster placements in A Place to Call Home Family Foster Homes, Developmental Homes and to children and adults receiving respite services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities and other contracted entities.  Our Respite Coordinators will schedule the respite with one of our certified respite providers.
  • Training-A Place to Call Home provides all required trainings for the above mentioned programs including PS-MAPP, Deciding Together, Medically Complex, Article 9, CPR and First Aid, and Prevention and Support. Trainings are offered in English and Spanish. 
  • Placement Services-A Place to Call Home works with biological families and guardians to provide placement for children and adults with developmental disabilities in licensed developmental homes.  

Quality foster and/or adoptive families and independent contractors providing respite services are needed for children and adults with special needs to thrive.  We train and support you above and beyond the minimum requirements to help you be successful.
